Music and Well Being

As is true with most professional musicians it is difficult to find the time to listen to music. I will go days without listening to music except that I play or teach. During these dry spells I find myself becoming more agitated and less balanced. Music is key (pun intended) to a musicians well being. Wash dishes and listen to music. Clean the house, do all those nagging things you need to get done but listen to music while doing it. I find if I don't listen to an hour of music (minimum) a day I become unbalanced. Life starts to feel more heavy and even the playing I do feels like work.

I would say the same about playing music. Play for no reason. If we have no more of the private experiences there is nothing more to share in public.

Just listen and play.
